Samsung & Tesla Launch 3nm “AI5” Production

Samsung Foundry has finalized the first 3nm AI5 chip for Tesla and is preparing for mass production at its new $17 billion facility in Taylor, Texas. A major ceremony is scheduled for April 24 to mark the arrival of manufacturing gear. This partnership is a critical step for Samsung as it attempts to close the “yield gap” with TSMC, aiming for a 60% success rate on its 2nm process later this year.
